farming meeting

The Agriculture Bill is a landmark piece of legislation which will shape how we farm after we have left the EU.

Food and farming is a bedrock of our economy and environment, generating £112 billion a year and helping shape some of our finest habitats and landscapes. I am pleased that the Government are committed to matching the current budget available to farmers in every year of this Parliament, providing certainty and stability.

I was pleased to meet, last week in Westminster, with representatives from NFU, and local farmers. It was a very wide-ranging meeting to discuss the Agriculture Bill, Brexit, animal welfare, climate change and food standards.

I will be holding a Farmers' Forum on the 30th January at Scald End Farm, Thurleigh, to discuss issues of concern with local farmers. If you farm in NE Beds and would like to attend, please email [email protected].
