Central Bedfordshire has opened a consultation to obtain views from residents, businesses and members of the local community on an active travel scheme proposal for Biggleswade.
The Council has received £600,000 funding from central government to improve cycling and walking provision on specific routes in three areas of Bedfordshire, one of which is in Richard's constituency in Biggleswade.
The Biggleswade proposal is to extend the kerb line along the western side of London Road to provide additional width for a shared foot/cycleway to link into and improve the cycle network in Biggleswade. In order to facilitate the scheme, proposes to withdraw the advisory cycle lane on the eastern side (southbound lane) on London Road.
Richard said: "This consultation survey will help Central Bedfordshire Council to understand local views and will help them to monitor and evaluate the scheme before and after its implementation so I urge the local community to take part and have their say."
The online consultation can be found on the CBC website and will close on the 28th March.
Attached is an outline drawing which identifies the route set for enhancement.
