You can now watch Richard's oral representation at the March Planning Inspectorate hearings on East Park Energy .
Please see this video where Richard Fuller MP laid out his reasons - under a five minute time restriction - why the East Park Energy solar proposal should not be allowed to proceed.
This week, Richard also submitted his written representation which provides further detail. This can be read here.
Richard Fuller commented:
I strongly oppose the East Park Energy scheme based on what I believe are practical failures of this specific scheme, rather than on general principle. I asked that the permanent loss of a high proportion of high‑quality agricultural land is given significant weight against the proposal and I urged the Inspector to require the applicant to provide a detailed assessment of the cumulative impacts of other projects in the area, namely Tempsford New Town and East West Rail and urged the Inspector to recommend to the Minister that prior to any decision on this particular proposal, the Government conducts its own assessment of
cumulative impacts of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects on North Bedfordshire.
