National HIV Testing Week kicks off on Monday 9th February. Throughout the week, anyone in England can order a free HIV test directly to their door.

It is estimated that over 110,000 people are living with HIV in the UK or which over 5,000 are believed to be unaware that they have the disease. Against this backdrop, testing is critical to achieve the goal of significantly reducing new transmissions by 2030.

The Terrence Higgins Trust believe that a zero figure is achievable and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) believes this is not impossible.

To read about the Government plan for HIV please go to https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/hiv-action-plan-for-england-2025-to-2030 and visit https://freetesting.hiv/ to receive a free home testing kit.
