As the country looks toward the upcoming Autumn Budget, Richard appeared on TalkTV to discuss his concerns about the government’s approach to taxation and spending.

People who get up early and work hard every day are being penalised by rising taxes and policies that undermine their effort. The Government’s Jobs Tax introduced last year has had a detrimental impact on businesses and job creation, and it’s hitting working households hardest, reducing incentives to work and invest. At the same time, the growing welfare bill raises serious questions about priorities and fairness. If the Government wants to claim it stands with working people, then the Autumn Budget must reflect that by cutting taxes, supporting jobs, and ensuring that hard work truly pays. We need a Budget that rewards effort, encourages enterprise, and restores confidence that work is valued in this country.
