Registration is now open for objections to the proposed East Park Energy Solar Farm, a large-scale development covering approximately 1,900 acres, 74% of which is prime agricultural land, across North Bedfordshire and Huntingdonshire. The scheme includes a 400 MW solar farm and a 100 MW battery storage facility.
This project has been designated a ‘Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project’, meaning the decision will be made nationally by the Secretary of State following a Development Consent Order (DCO) process.
Members of the public who wish to have their say must register as an ‘Interested Party’ by Wednesday, 14 January at 23:59.
Richard Fuller MP commented:
I am strongly opposed to this proposal. Its sheer scale, comparable to Gatwick Airport, would take up 1,900 acres of land, most of which is prime agricultural land. This threatens food security, damages our rural landscape, and will cause significant disruption during construction. This is the wrong project in the wrong place.
