Earlier this month, Richard met with Met Sarah and Chris during Family Business Week in Parliament. Arranged by Family Business UK, the event gave MPs an opportunity to hear firsthand how small businesses are getting on in this tough economic environment and about the particular concerns of family businesses.
Richard Fuller MP said:
Sarah joined her family’s business, based in Norwich, in an entry level position and has worked her way up doing all the roles she can to get a comprehensive view of the business. That’s her family’s way to ensure the business grows carefully and thoughtfully.
Chris came back to his family’s business after getting experience and skills from other fields and now puts those to use to help his firm grow.
Family businesses are the heartbeat of our country and we have lots of local examples across North Bedfordshire.
This Labour government has set its face against our family businesses with tax changes that are having a chilling effect on how these businesses invest and grow.
We are just a few weeks away from a second Labour budget when further tax increases may be on the cards as the Chancellor has lost control of the public finances despite the huge tax increases last year.
As family businesses struggle with Reeves’ last tax raid, will you and your family be her next target?
