Last week in Parliament at a drop-in event for MPs, Richard met with Govia Thameslink Railway's (GTR) Chief of Customer Services, Mark Pavlides, to raise concerns about the standard of rail replacement services on Sundays as the signalling upgrades are being made.
Richard Fuller MP said:
As a constituent noted to me, many people work on Sundays and rely on regular availability of rail services: Sunday is not an “off day” for many.
Mr Pavlides was aware of the problems and said GTR had “spread the net wider” to find additional bus service providers to help improve service levels. Well they need to and I will be following up to see what progress has been made.
There are a number of planned engineering works over the coming weeks as part of Network Rail’s East Coast Digital Programme to upgrade the signalling on the East Coast Main Line to a digital system, ultimately meaning more reliable journeys.
