Update on East West Rail: sign the petition before Thursday 30 May

EWR Statement

East West Rail have announced that their Statutory Consultation programme will be delayed due to the upcoming General Election. The attached update provides full details as well as news about the appointment of David Hughes as their latest Chief Executive Officer.

Commenting, Richard Fuller MP said:

I continue to oppose this rail link for being badly mismanaged, extremely expensive, massively and irreversibly damaging to both people's homes and North Bedfordshire's countryside and simply not needed other than as a convenient vehicle for extensive house building over huge swathes of Bedfordshire land.

A petition has been started which some of you may wish to sign which calls for the EWR project to be paused and for a full, transparent and independent review to be carried out.
