'Valuing our local beauty businesses' was the theme of a zoom meeting Emma Sykes and Richard Fuller arranged with local business owners ahead of the March Budget. Richard met Emma last Summer when the beauty sector was overlooked by the government and not allowed to re-open alongside barbers and hairdressers.
During a vigorous discussion about what measures might help most businesses, the attendees were joined by Caroline Nokes MP, who updated the group on her discussions with the Chancellor.
Following the meeting, Richard said: "Appointments at beauty clinics, hairdressers and barbers are core reasons for people to visit our towns and prompt visits to many other local businesses. Thanks to Emma and her colleagues, I have a clear set of requests to make to the Chancellor and will be campaigning to ensure there is a clear path to re-opening these crucial local businesses."
