Last week, Richard closed the Opposition Debate on Tax, accusing the Government of misleading the public at last year's General Election.
Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Richard Fuller MP said:
I appreciate that a key factor behind voting at last year's election was "anyone but the Conservatives" but, I would be surprised if many of the 33.7% who voted Labour are not now regretting putting such an incompetent bunch in charge of the economy.
It's not a game and it's not some crude ideological class struggle. The government's actions affect real lives in jobs, earnings and living standards and it's high time the Chancellor and her team start putting the British people first and not their Union paymasters and their ideologues on the backbenches.
Labour's Treasury front bench don't seem to recognise that it is their job to help, not to hold back the creators who actually grow our economy and not to tax them into oblivion!
The Chancellor is the eye of an instability storm of her own making, where nobody knows when her next tax raid will come, and who will get hit the hardest—a second summer of doubt and uncertainty caused by the Chancellor, and tolerated by the Prime Minister.
