On Tuesday, the Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Select Committee met to hear evidence on airline cancellations and compensation.

Richard Fuller MP said:

I questioned travel writer and broadcaster, Simon Calder, and Head of Consumer Rights and Food Policy at Which?, Sue Davies, about those airlines that are performing particularly poorly and those that are doing better. I also queried what was causing the issues and what could be done to resolve them.

It was widely accepted that over-booking and over-promising was a key factor coupled with very poor communication to passengers.
