On Tuesday in the House of Commons, Richard questioned Business Minister Greg Hands MP about the costs associated with pursuing the goal of Net Zero, following an announcement on the Government's Net Zero and Heat and Buildings Strategies.

Richard Fuller, MP for North East Bedfordshire and Member of the Business and Energy Select Committee, said:

Most of us agree that the UK's pursuit of Net Zero is an important ambition, however the route to this goal is fraught with untested technologies, unforeseeable potential costs and unclear challenges posed by being a 'first mover' in this space.

I sought assurances that the government was doing the utmost due diligence on assessing these factors and the extent of possible impacts on businesses and households.

To date, the UK has decarbonised faster than any other G7 country.
