On Tuesday, Richard Fuller MP, a member of the House of Commons Business and Energy Select Committee, spoke in the debate on the government's Energy Security Strategy.
Speaking after the debate, he said:
I challenged the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy that a major hurdle to families investing in heat pumps or home insulation are the prohibitive upfront costs that are required to deliver a subsequent long-term saving in energy costs.
I suggested the introduction of a net zero Enterprise Investment Scheme to attract private capital to help with the social objective of net zero.
