Step 3

The government has announced that we will go ahead with Step 3 in easing restrictions on 17 May.

This means that from next Monday, the majority of the indoor and remaining outdoor economy can reopen following the Rule of Six or two households, and gathering limits will increase indoors and outdoors. Guidance for close contact between friends and family will be updated, with people exercising their own personal judgement in line with the risks, and the Stay in the UK restriction will be lifted and people will be able to travel to green list countries.

Richard Fuller, Member of Parliament for North East Bedfordshire said:

The Prime Minister remains cautious on this roadmap from lockdown but these are welcome steps in getting us closer back to normal, supported by the UK's impressive vaccination programme.
