On Tuesday morning, Kemi Badenoch launched the Conservative Party's Policy Renewal Programme.
Speaking from the event, Richard Fuller MP said:
Kemi has broken the political consensus of myth making about Net Zero by 2050 and seeks to replace it with a set of detailed plans that maintain progress to net zero but at a pace that British families can afford and which protects our national security.
In a powerful and clear sighted speech, Kemi dissected the risks of continuing on a pathway based on an arbitrary target. She called on everyone: from climate change sceptics to renewables enthusiasts to join in helping to create more pragmatic plans that the country can afford. She also indicated that a future Conservative government would look for ways to reduce significantly the costs of energy which are holding back our industrial base and squeezing family finances.
