On Monday Richard appeared on BBC Look East in a piece they produced on access to GPs in Bedfordshire, following Richard's parliamentary debate on this topic earlier this month.
Richard Fuller, MP for North East Bedfordshire, said:
During the interview, I restated that infrastructure first is critical alongside housing development to provide the access to healthcare and school places that people rightly expect when they move into a new home. Housing growth in Bedfordshire is 3-5 times the national average and this is exacerbating the long-standing shortage of GPs and doctors' premises.
I will continue to press the government to act on this and the inability of the NHS to keep pace with house building – in personnel, processes and facilities - and will be speaking to the Secretary of State for Health to push for improvements.
