Like many residents, I am very concerned about the possible closure of Great Denham golf course and the implications for the future of the site. Councillor Jim Weir raised his concerns at Full Council last night and made the case for retention of the golf course and his petition has gathered a large number of signatures. His efforts have my full support and you can sign the petition here.
Planning is primarily a local government issue but as your MP I want to ensure that restrictions currently in place as a result of the pandemic do not limit resident voice on major development matters. I have written to Bidwells - the landowner's agent - to ask about their plans for the site and I will share any response I receive.
Any future decisions, in terms of planning considerations, will be a matter for the Borough Council to adjudicate but I will continue to liaise with Councillor Weir.
