On Friday, East West Rail published its chosen route.

Richard Fuller MP said:

Disappointingly it leaves a lot of questions still up in the air about freight, about the financial case and whether it will be powered by diesel or not.

I have produced this video to outline the chosen route and explain why I believe there are better, greener alternatives to deliver the undoubted growth opportunities that East West Rail purports to deliver around Oxford and Cambridge.

I will continue to oppose the government on this project and its scarring of North East Bedfordshire countryside and I will partner with all interested local authorities to build a coalition in support of the alternative strategies to growth.

The announcement from East West Rail can be found here at: https://eastwestrail.co.uk/routeupdate

Since being elected, Richard has supported constituents by consistently taking their concerns to East West Rail, the Department for Transport, ministers as well as regularly raising their concerns in the House of Commons, including during a debate in June 2021, which Richard secured.
