Last week, Richard visited Park Farm in Riseley to meet local farmers Freya Morgan, Elizabeth Wootton, Thomas Beazley and Kevin Morgan-Jones ahead of a crucial final months of Brexit negotiations.
Speaking from the farm, Richard said:
"We covered a broad range of topics including the importance of prioritising food production in upcoming agriculture legislation, the future structure of financial support for the agriculture sector, the need for imports to match U.K. standards on production and animal welfare and greater flexibility on the use of pesticides. We also talked about the scourge of hare-coursing and other rural crime as well as a discussion on the implications of the East West Rail route.
"It has been a very useful morning and a good opportunity to Back British Farming."
