Last week, the Biggleswade Chronicle reported that Bedfordshire Police have arrested 10 people for a range of offences, including robbery, assault and shoplifting, as part of a dedicated operation to tackle youth violence in the town. The Police also confirmed there has been enforcement action on properties associated with antisocial behaviour and that they are currently recruiting for PCSOs in Central Bedfordshire, in addition to the two PCSOs that cover the area.

The article was published after Richard met with councilors and subsequently wrote to the Police about ASB issues in Biggleswade.

Richard Fuller commented:

I am pleased to see that my efforts, in conjunction with Cllr Jonathan Woodhead and Cllr Hayley Whitaker, have delivered some measure of respite for the long-suffering residents of Biggleswade who have been faced with escalating levels of anti-social behaviour for too long.

I also welcome the positive comments from Bedfordshire Police that recruitment is underway for more PCSOs to bolster those already operating in the town.

If anyone has concerns please continue to report them to Bedfordshire Police through their online reporting service or by calling 101 as it helps build a picture of what is happening and helps target resources.
