Shortly after the devastating murder of Ann Widdecombe, Richard was interviewed by The Times about his approach to constituency surgeries, and the importance he places on being as accessible as possible to his constituents.

The article can be read at https://www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/article/mp-surgeries-security-fears-democracy-0gt5cqtkf and some sections are available as attachments below.

Commenting, Richard said:

I appreciate that different MPs take an alternative approach, particularly in light of the high profile and tragic murders of Jo Cox, David Amess and now, Ann Widdecombe. Whilst I make no judgement on how others fulfill their duties, for me this is an essential part of my role as an MP and I will continue to hold regular drop-in, appointment and online/telephone surgeries, as well as frequent 'town hall' meetings around the constituency.

As a follow up to this piece I appeared on Times Radio and you can listen to that interview here: https://youtu.be/LTpq3L9Y-34

Also, if you have a concern you'd like to raise with me or an issue I may be able to help with, please visit https://www.richardfuller.co.uk/surgeries for details of upcoming surgeries and 'town hall' meetings.

In the Times Radio interview, Richard mentions a book that was published by constituent, John Knight. More information can be found at: https://pegasuspublishers.com/book/the-importance-of-you
