Leaked National Energy System Operator (Neso) shows push to renewables makes it much harder to predict supply and demand.

There was an alarming report in The Times newspaper last week arguing that because of the rush to renewable power transition, the regulator of our national energy grid, Neso, is “flying blind every minute of every day…risking total blackout”.

Richard Fuller MP said:

We have some excellent renewable energy production sites, but it’s no good to consumers, or the country, if our total power generation capacity is too unstable or too geographically dispersed to deliver that power both reliably, and cost effectively to users.

I have warned many times of the risks of putting ideology ahead of pragmatic common sense in the pursuit of a carbon free future.

It seems that ideology is driving this government and that risks unnecessarily higher energy costs for each of us as consumers AND as taxpayers.

Ed Miliband may be gone but his replacement, Miatta Fahnbulleh, is even more of a zealot for what she calls “the transition”.

For us locally, this report reinforces the case AGAINST the proposal for a ludicrously over-scale, environmentally damaging East Park Energy plant across our farmland in North Bedfordshire.
