Just before Parliament broke for recess, Richard welcomed a group of students from North Bedfordshire to Parliament for a 'Taste of Westminster' day.
Speaking afterwards, Richard Fuller said:
This year's group was the largest we have had which I hope is a reflection of increased interest in politics among young people. They were certainly a lively and engaged group and asked a lot of searching and considered questions.
The day kicked off with a tour and Q&A with me, followed by meetings with Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, The Rt Hon Priti Patel, one of the Shadow Whips, a Clerk from the Foreign Affairs Select Committee and a talk from a House of Commons Library specialist about the critical role that department plays in assisting MPs and their staff.
Finally, there was an opportunity to sit in the gallery in the House of Commons and witness Parliamentary questions first hand.
A long, but hopefully enjoyable and enlightening day.
If you know a young person from North Bedfordshire that would be keen to attend the Summer 2027 Taste of Westminster Day, please ask them to email [email protected] to register their interest.
