Preliminary inquest hearings into the gas explosion at Cleat Hill in October 2024 took place in Ampthill last week.
Richard Fuller MP said:
It is twenty one months since an explosion at Cleat Hill led to the death of two people and the evacuation of forty households for six weeks.
Bedfordshire Police have now confirmed to the coroner that their findings have been submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service who could take around three months to determine whether to proceed.
The results of the police investigation will be of considerable interest as we seek an explanation of what actions, or what fallings, led to this disastrous outcome.
