On Friday evening, Richard received confirmation from Network Rail that they have now completed recovery and repair works following the train collision, with the vast majority of passenger services on the Midland Main Line set to resume on Monday 29th June.
Services will not run this weekend (Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June) between Bedford and London St Pancras due to planned engineering works that were already scheduled before the incident.
Rail replacement buses will operate over the weekend between:
- Bedford and Hitchen
- Bedford and Luton
- Luton and West Hampstead Thameslink
- Hitchin and Luton Airport Parkway via Luton
- Harpenden and Potters Bars via St Albans
Passengers travelling should check the EMR and Thameslink websites for the latest information ahead of Monday's return to service. People whose tickets were affected by the Bedford closure, or by today's (Friday) heat disruption, can use them to travel on any day up to and including Tuesday 30 June, or claim a full refund with no administration fee.
