Richard recently met with Family Business UK to discuss their newly published policy agenda, Building Britain for Generations, which sets out a practical roadmap to unlock the full potential of family-owned firms across the UK.
Richard Fuller MP said:
Before I entered politics, I spent years working in business and start-ups. One thing I learned early on is that family businesses are the backbone of our local economies. ThFamily businesses are stable, they care about the community and they ensure people stay working longer.
That’s why I’m a long-time supporter of Family Business UK.
I sat down with Tom Ridgeway from the organisation to hear about their current plans, and I shared my own suggestions on ways we can strengthen family businesses.
Family businesses make up 93% of all private firms in the UK, employing 15.8 million people and their policy agenda sets out a set of reforms to help unlock greater investment, support job creation and strengthen local economies.
