This week, the Conservatives forced the government to Axe the Fuel Duty Tax Hike, saving families £156 per year.

At the Spring Statement, the Chancellor said that fuel duty would increase by 5p per litre for both petrol and diesel cars, with the increase phased over until March 2027. This would have cost a household with two petrol cars a £156 per year. Under significant Conservative opposition, the Chancellor has now U-turned on this decision.

Richard Fuller MP said:

This is yet another welcome u-turn by this government. This is a huge victory for drivers, who will be saved from paying more at the pump.
