A1 Southbound from Wyboston to Tempsford closed this weekend and A421 Westbound overnight closures next week between Black Cat and Renhold Interchange

A1 southbound diversion

There will be a weekend closure of the A1 Southbound from Wyboston to Tempsford from 9pm on Friday 8th to 5am on Monday 11th May 2026 to move the A1 southbound carriageway onto a new alignment between Wyboston and Black Cat Junctions.

Please follow this diversion:

  • exit A1 at Wyboston Interchange
  • take A428 towards Wyboston
  • take Barford Road rejoining A1 at Tempsford Interchange

There will also be overnight closures on A421 Westbound from 9pm to 5am on Monday 11 May to Friday 15 May between Black Cat and Renhold Interchange for earthworks to take place close to the carriageway.
 
Please follow this diversion:

  • take A1 southbound towards Sandy
  • join A603 at Sandy
  • rejoin A421 at Cardington Interchange
