Richard visited DS Smith near Blunham last week to see the latest developments at the packaging plant.

Of the twenty DS Smith sites across the UK and Ireland, the Blunham facility is one of four high volume production sites handling over 220 million square metres of cardboard every year. That's enough to wrap almost 2 and a half times around the world. Another astonishing statistic I learnt was that each roll of paper that enters the factory to be turned into cardboard is almost 12km long when fully unwound.
DS Smith is an important local employer with almost 150 current employees and expecting to reach over 170 in the coming months. They are clearly a good company to work for given the longevity of employment of staff including one gentleman who recently retired after 50 years at the company.
A great local success story and I was delighted to see them powering ahead with significant ongoing investment.
