As part of the Black Cat Roundabout redevelopment, National Highways will be installing new lighting columns on the A1 northbound.
In order to safely carry out this work, the A1 northbound will be closed between Tempsford and Black Cat roundabout overnight (9pm to 5am) from Monday 26th to Friday 30th January 2026.
Drivers are advised to use the following diversion:
- exit A1 northbound at Tempsford junction
- take St Neots Road towards St Neots
- join A428 towards Wyboston
- re-join A1 northbound at Wyboston junction
