Shortly before Christmas, Richard met with the Director and Waterway Project Lead of Bedford and Milton Keynes Waterway Trust, Simon Clewlow, to discuss plans for a new canal between Milton Keynes and Bedford as well as the impact it may have on future visitors to the planned Universal Studios development.
Richard Fuller MP said:
I remain unconvinced by the broad arguments in favour of the canal, however, Simon did outline some interesting ideas around connectivity between Bedford, Kempston and Great Denham and the planned Universal Studios theme park. This could potentially reduce visitor reliance on road and rail and is certainly worth further discussions and exploration.
I look forward to hearing more about these ideas in the New Year.
