Richard with National Highways Regional Director of Operations

Richard recently met with Martin Fellows, Regional Director of Operations at National Highways, in Parliament to review progress on key infrastructure projects affecting North Bedfordshire.

Speaking after the meeting, Richard Fuller MP said:

I was pleased to hear that the Black Cat improvement works remain on track and are due for completion by the 2027 deadline. This is a vital project for improving connectivity and reducing delays for local residents and businesses.

The discussion covered several major developments, including the proposed Universal Studios site, East West Rail, and plans for a new town at Tempsford. Richard also raised concerns about Junction 13 and the impact on roads in and around Bedford, including the A6. He pressed the need for a review of roundabouts along the A1, particularly around Sandy.

National Highways confirmed they are continuing to explore long-term options for the road networks.

Richard added:

I will continue to push for local infrastructure that keeps pace with the growth in our community.
