On Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 November, Great Northern and Thameslink services on the East Coast Main Line will be affected by engineering work in connection with the ongoing East Coast Digital Programme.
The work taking place means that during the closure, no trains will run between Potters Bar and Peterborough or Royston, and between Hertford North and Stevenage. Train services will run between King’s Cross and Potters Bar, between Moorgate and Potters Bar or Hertford North and between Royston and Cambridge / King’s Lynn.
Replacement buses will run in closed sections and to link up with alternative rail routes on the Midland Main Line for connections to and from central London.
The testing work taking place over the weekend 22/23 November is the latest step in a process towards operating the first digitally signalled passenger trains on the Welwyn to Hitchin section from next summer.
Journey planners on rail company websites and at www.nationalrail.co.uk are up to date, alongside an update to the dedicated East Coast Digital Programme webpage. Please plan and check ahead of travelling over that weekend.
