Richard recently visited Ambulance Response Group, a family run ambulance company, which is based at Scald End Farm in Thurleigh.

I enjoyed visiting the Ambulance Response Group and had a good discussion with the Operations Director, Steven Reece, and the Bedford Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Health, Martin Towler.
This organisation is a private for-hire ambulance service, operating for 11yrs and with around 30 ambulances and 60 staff. They service events like village fetes in my constituency but are also contracted to do essential work like patients’ hospital transfers where these require ambulances, therefore reducing the strain on NHS (EEAST) ambulances.
We discussed ideas for how the ambulance system can be improved, and I’ve agreed to arrange meetings with both regional and national leaders to see how we can give Bedfordshire the best ambulance service possible.
