Richard recently joined parishioners of the Church of St Edmund or St James in Blunham for their community café.

The Church of St Edmund or St James in Blunham is one of our county’s finest Grade 1 listed churches.
So it was a pleasure to join local residents at a coffee morning to discuss all things Blunham and, of course, national issues.
Last year I pressed for continuing relief from VAT for works to restore churches and was disappointed to see the government introduce a cap of £25,000 pa that could be refunded under the Listed Places of Worship (LPW) Grant Scheme. This wonderful church retains its quality in large part to fundraising and volunteering. It would be such a pity to see another whack of tax costs added to the amount they need to raise.
The 'community café' coffee morning takes place on the second Saturday of the month from 10:30 - 12:00 and offers an opportunity to meet other people over a hot or cold drink with cake and biscuits.
