Last week, Richard visited MacIntyre No Limits education facility in Cotton End to learn more about their work with young adults who have severe learning disabilities.

Speaking afterwards, Richard Fuller MP said:

During my visit I had a tour of the school, the former primary school in the village, and spoke to some of the students about my role as a Member of Parliament before answering some questions from a very inquisitive young man about transport policy and how that affects my constituency.

Following the tour, I was dismayed to learn about the impact of this Government’s policies on MacIntyre and its facilities across the country.

Rachel Reeves’ Jobs Tax, combined with the extraordinary increase to the National Living Wage, will drive social care providers like MacIntyre into significant financial distress and, because they are a private charity rather than a public sector body, they will have to pay the full amount of the rise.

I would like to thank CEO, Sarah Burslem, and her team for the tour and the very informative discussion afterwards,. And I would like to thank the students for the amazing sandwich lunch they provided as part of their “life skills” course.
