GTR have written to inform Richard of advance notice of engineering work affecting Thameslink and Great Northern services between Saturday 21st December 2024 and 5th January 2025.
The following days and services will be affected:
- 21st December to 29th December – No trains between Harpenden and London on the Midland Main Line.
- 25th December – No service.
- 26th December – No service.
- 27th December to 29th December - No cross-London Thameslink services.
- 27th December – 2nd January - No trains between Royston and Cambridge North.
- 3rd January to 5th January – No trains between Royston and Cambridge North / Cambridge.
Rail replacement bus services are being planned with the aim of moving customers by railway for as much of their journey as possible. For example, during the Midland Main Line closure, replacement services will run between Luton Airport Parkway and Hitchin (on the East Coast Main Line), as well as between St Albans, Harpenden and Potters Bar (again, on the ECML).
