Richard welcomes Bedfordshire young carer to Parliament

Earlier this week Richard met with Young Carer, Sian Macaulay from Harrold, and Dominic Carter from the Young Carers Trust.

Speaking after their meeting in Parliament, Richard Fuller MP said:

I enjoyed meeting Sian to hear more about the significant role of young carers, and the challenges young carers face. Sian shared with me the impact caring has on young carers like herself, including on their school attainment and their future opportunities.

We discussed the recent inquiry by the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Young Carers and Young Adult Carers into the lives of young and young adult carers and I heard from the Young Carers Trust about the important work they do to support Young Carers like Sian.

I was impressed by Sian’s work to raise awareness about this important issue.
