Last week, Richard visited Cranfield Aerospace Solutions who are developing the world’s first fully certified, zero-emissions, hydrogen fuel-powered aircraft
Speaking after the visit, Richard Fuller MP said:
Many thanks to Sam and Mark for hosting my visit to Cranfield Aerospace Solutions last week.
This company is at the forefront of developing zero emission flying, and are yet another example of exciting, entrepreneurial and innovative businesses that are flying the flag for Bedfordshire.
Cranfield Aerospace Solutions recently signed Heads of Terms signalling intention to merge with aeroplane manufacturer Britten-Norman, and will be modifying their Islander aircraft to fly using hydrogen as its zero emission fuel source with the first test flight currently scheduled for next year.
The company has secured significant interest, both through financial investments and airline operators due to the excellent green credentials and also cost benefits associated with Hydrogen once the infrastructure is in place.
I look forward to staying in touch with CAeS and will monitor developments with great interest
