On Thursday morning, Richard attended the official Bedfordshire launch event for the King's Awards for Enterprise and met with current and past winners of these prestigious awards, previously The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.

The event provided an opportunity to encourage new companies to apply for awards who mixing with their peers who have experience of applying for an award and the benefits of winning one.

Richard Fuller MP said:

DARTeC at Cranfield University was the impressive venue for the launch of this year’s King’s Awards for Enterprise in Bedfordshire. Led by Deputy Lieutenant, Nick Kier, we learned about the success of Bedfordshire in the awards and of the benefits that success can bring.

The King’s Award for Enterprise is a prestige award and a clear recognition of corporate success. The awards are open to for profit businesses but also for non-profits. You can learn more about the awards via this video here: https://youtu.be/Yk-daXbv6I8

I would very much encourage Bedfordshire businesses to apply.

The King’s Awards for Enterprise are for outstanding achievement by UK businesses in the categories of:

  • innovation
  • international trade
  • sustainable development
  • promoting opportunity through social mobility

Applications for the 2024 King's Awards for Enterprise opened on May 6th 2023.

Please use the following link to find out more about the benefits of winning one of these awards together with the criteria for eligibility: https://www.gov.uk/kings-awards-for-enterprise and do make contact with the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, Nick Kier, for further information. His contact details can be found in the video here.
