Two Parish Councils in North East Bedfordshire have received funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to go towards events that they are holding to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III.

Tempsford have received £1,000 for their Picnic in the Park; for the village community to celebrate the Coronation. The funding will be used to hold a celebratory event, marking the coronation of King Charles III, to include, stalls, competitions and the planting of a commemorative tree, where people of all ages will be provided with the opportunity to get together.

Staploe Parish Council have been provided with £3,100 of funding to be used to host a community lunch to mark the King’s Coronation and create a paved path to improve access to the playing fields. The project aims to build social relationships and improve the local area.

In addition to these two Coronation events, Blunham Parochial Church Council recently received £10,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund which will be used to provide disabled access to the building. The project aims to improve the accessibility of the space for members of the community with mobility issues.
