Richard has welcomed the news that Bedford College has been awarded £2,077,378 to upgrade buildings as part of 146 colleges benefiting from the final phase of the £1.5 billion further education capital transformation programme to transform campuses. The allocations can be found here.
The FE capital transformation programme is just one part of a wider programme of government investment to transform post-16 education and training, ensuring that every student can gain the skills they need to progress and secure a good job.
This includes massive investment to support the roll out of new T Levels, boost capacity so there is a place for every 16 to 19-year-old and a £300 million investment to establish a network of Institutes of Technology.

Those who have been to Bedford College will know of Ian Pryce's strong leadership as the Principal and CEO and his success in securing funds for the College.
I am aware Ian is leaving the Bedford College Group early next year and I thank him yet again for securing this additional funding and everything he has done for students across Bedfordshire.
Bedford College group includes Central Bedfordshire College and Shuttleworth College.
