Recently, Historic England published their updated Heritage at Risk Register for 2022. The Register gives an annual snapshot of the critical health of England’s most valued historic places, and those most at risk of being lost. In North East Bedfordshire, one site was saved, and no sites were added to the Heritage at Risk Register in 2022.

Richard Fuller MP said:

I was pleased to read the news that the Church of All saints in Eyeworth has been removed from the Heritage at Risk Register following repairs carried out on chancel masonry and loose parapets using funds raised through the efforts of the Parish community. Congratulations to everyone involved in preserving this important piece of Bedfordshire history.

Whilst no longer at risk, further repairs are needed and frequent fundraising events are held and advertised through the local Facebook group We Love Eyeworth. Please keep an eye on this page if you would like to be involved or help support the maintenance of this church in any way. https://www.facebook.com/groups/289732161550166/

The Church of All Saints dates back to the 14th century and contains medieval monuments to Sir Edmund Anderson (1530-1605) who was Chief Justice of the Common Pleas under Elizabeth I and a judge during the trial of Mary, Queen of Scots, alongside memorials to his descendants, who were local Lords of the Manor.
