QCEC 2022

The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition (QCEC) is now open for entries and will close for submissions on the 30th June 2022.

The QCEC is the world’s oldest international writing competition for schools and has been delivered by the Royal Commonwealth Society (Society) since 1883. It seeks to foster an empathetic and open-minded world view in the next generation of Commonwealth leaders and offers thousands of young people, from a wide range of backgrounds, the opportunity to make their voices heard on a global platform.

Open to all UK residents, aged 18 and under, the competition has two age categories for those aged 14 – 18 years, and those under 14 years.

Winners from each category will win a trip to London for a week of educational and cultural activities, culminating in an awards ceremony, usually held at Buckingham Palace and hosted by the Society’s Vice-Patron, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall. All successful entries are recognised for their participation.

Full details can be found at the Royal Commonwealth Society website here.

Richard Fuller MP said:

This year The Queen will celebrate 70 years on the throne and also as head of the Commonwealth. The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition is open for entries from now until 30th June and I hope schools in North East Bedfordshire will encourage their students to enter.
