Earlier this month, Richard Fuller MP joined the Mayor of Biggleswade, Madeline Russell, to plant two trees in The Spinney in Biggleswade as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy.
The Queen’s Green Canopy is a UK-wide sustainable tree planting initiative which invites people to 'plant a tree for the Jubilee', created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee later this year. The Spinney is based just off Dells Lane in Biggleswade and is a semi-wild area to encourage wildlife and is popular with resident dog walkers. Another seventeen trees were also planted that day by members of the public realm team.
Richard said:
I was delighted to plant an oak in The Spinney as part of a number of tree planting initiatives that have taken place across the constituency to create a lasting legacy for future generations in honour of The Queen’s leadership of our Nation. My thanks go to the Mayor and the team at Biggleswade Town Council for organising the day.
