Earlier this month, Richard Fuller MP visited Unilever's research and development site at Colworth Park in North East Bedfordshire.
Speaking after the visit, Richard said:
From new regulations on recycling to initiatives to inform healthy eating there was a lot to discuss on my recent visit to Unilever at Colworth Park.
As it was during Apprenticeship week it was encouraging to learn about Unilever’s decades long commitment to apprenticeships and to get better informed by the latest apprentice on latest food technologies. I also enjoyed meeting some of the current apprentices working in the business.
Seb Munden, UK Managing Director, and the excellent food science and toxicology team at Colworth Park explained exciting opportunities for the UK to improve our safety science regimen and to reduce or eliminate any residual animal testing for food and care products before release. I will be discussing further with the government to see if the UK can capitalise on this pro-animal welfare, post-Brexit opportunity.
