Earlier this month, Richard visited Sharnbrook Academy to meet with a group of Year 8s and a group of Year 13 Geography students.

Speaking after the visit, MP for North East Bedfordshire, Richard Fuller, said:

During my visit, I heard about the actions the students and school were taking to help the collective journey to net zero and they shared their views on what more government and society could also be doing. Ideas ranged from empowering people to become more conscious consumers; reducing the plastic that comes with the LFD covid tests; increasing the price of meat to encourage more flexitarians and finding ways to bring all the generations together to fix the problem.

I thoroughly enjoyed my discussions with the students and teachers, as well as my tour of the school to see some of the more sustainable areas of the site, including the science building which has solar panels on the roof and a display inside to show how much power is being generated.
