Last week, Richard had the opportunity to take part in a ride along of North Bedfordshire with the Bedfordshire Police Rural Crime Team.
Richard Fuller, MP for North East Bedfordshire, said:
Many thanks to PC Grant Hayes and PCSO Giovanna Traetto–Reynolds for allowing me to ride along with them on Friday afternoon.
As members of the Bedfordshire Police Force Rural Crime Team, they represent the front line of supporting our rural communities and are driven and committed to tackling the scourges of burglaries, fly-tipping and of course hare-coursing.
We discussed the events of the week which had seen a huge number of hare coursing incidents, and I was able to glean important additional information that will help shape my Hare Coursing Private Members' Bill when it returns to Parliament for second reading in January.
The images of dead hares being paraded through the streets of Bedford, together with the feedback from the Rural Crime Team, has reinforced my commitment to do everything I can to eradicate this horrible crime.
