Leasehold and freehold reform and estate management charges have been an ongoing fight for many of Richard's constituents and he recently received a reply from the Housing Ministry about the implementation of some of the reforms.
Richard Fuller MP said:
I am pleased that some progress has been made in the past year at national level, but also more locally with some of the steps taken by Bedford Borough Council.
Nevertheless, I still receive considerable correspondence from constituents on this subject and recently wrote to the Minister for Housing, Communities & Local Government, Matthew Pennycook MP following one such constituent request.
Whilst his response, or rather that of one of the department's civil servants, didn't particularly address the specific question I had raised, it does still contain a great deal of useful detail about the approach the government is taking to implementing the reforms contained in the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024.
The reply can be read here.
